As the need for elderly care continues to grow, there's a huge opportunity for entrepreneurs to open more residential facilities. If you enjoy helping others, owning and operating a residential care facility for the elderly can be very rewarding. To open one in the state of California, you must first go through the RCFE licensing process to get started.
What Is the RCFE Licensing Process? The following three steps are all required to obtain an RCFE license. Step 1: Complete an RCFE Administrator Training Course Before applying for a license, you must complete an 80-hour training course to become a certified RCFE Administrator. This will teach you what you need to know to run a residential care facility. Step 2: Pass the State Exam After completing the course, you'll register to take the California state exam. It's an open-book test with 100 questions, which you need to pass in order to become a certified administrator. Step 3: Submit an Application Package Once certified, you can submit your licensing application package. When it's approved, you'll receive an official RCFE license to open a facility. How Do I Get Started? To begin the RCFE licensing process, look for an approved RCFE training course such as the one offered by Assisted Living Education. It's the first step towards making your dream of opening a care facility a reality.
